Sex Strike By The 'Liberal Ladies Who Lunch' And Why Nancy Pelosi Is Killing Me...

In a very interesting and telling promotion, the organization 'Liberal Ladies Who Lunch' have made a  self-declaration of a "sex strike" with the slogan posted on their facebook page, “In truth, if we lose our hard won rights to medical care, birth control and pregnancy choice, it won’t only affect women. Men will have to go back to the days when they waited for or paid for sex. This issue impacts all of us. This strike is designed to make that point. Ask your man to speak up for your rights, because when we lose our reproductive choices, so do they.”

Can we just talk a little bit about this statement? It asserts some falsity-- much of which is being promoted without facts or common sense.

Point #1) if we lost our hard won rights to medical care, birth control and pregnancy choice, it won't only affect women.

What is the definition of "medical care"? As far as I know, there is no one in America who is advocated for the removal of medical care for women, quite the contrary. How is birth control a "hard won" right? I don't understand how the absorbing of carcinogens that come with a whole host of nasty side-effects is a fight worth the battle. "Pregnancy choice" is a euphemism for abortion. Abortion, let's be very honest, is the cruel murder of little children. There is nothing noble about that. These choices have never affected only women-- all of us has suffered the fallout of the sexual revolution- increased divorce rate, higher numbers of STDS and more than 50 million abortions in American alone since its legalization. No man is an island. We can pretend we do not affect one another, but that simply isn't true.

Point #2) Men will have to go back to the days when they waited for or paid for sex.
Men still pay for sex, the prostitution industry and pornography industry are in no danger of going out of business. Having more sterile sex doesn't satisfy the deepest longings of the human heart. Lust, as St.Augustine speaks of in his Confessions, is only an itch that craves to be scratched.

Oh, the horror! Men might have to learn about the beauty of a woman's body and bring their sexual desires to order rather than having sex on demand. Women might learn of their deep nobility and find that they are gifts to be given and received, not toys for the mere enjoyment of men.

Point #3) When we lose our reproductive choices, so do they.

What does that even mean? "Reproductive choices"? That sounds so crass. What choices are being spoken of? Sterile marital union? The ability to copulate with random people without suffering the "seeming consequences"? The ability to legally kill children in the womb? These are the "choices" that women have worked so hard for? God help us all. We are truly, truly missing essence of what it means to be a human person. We are not mindless animals with reproductive organs. We are noble, infinite and awe-inspiring creations of God. We are not recycled nor replaced.

Women of faith-- speak out! Please! Let us speak a word that will rouse them. If you have a blog, blog about this. If you have a youtube account, make a video about this! We must get the truth out. All that the mainstream media is covering are voices like those of Nancy Pelosi, who claims to be Catholic but doesn't understand her own faith or dignity and arrogantly spouts ignorance and sophistry.

The video I posted on this blog of her giving a talk to other women at the Women In The World Summit reminded me of a big sister sitting around a campfire on a log, telling horror stories to little girls. "They don't believe in birth control.....and they are proud of it....." she spouts, trying to stir the ire and horror of the "enlightened" masses.

You know what is really horrific? The pole-vaulting and sheer dominance Rep Pelosi promised would happen to get Obamacare passed. True horror is when the government comes to impose its seeming "remedy" at the expense of freedom of religion. It is horrific indeed not to know who we are and to be told by the government what we should do in matters of faith and conscience.

Let us go back to our foundation. We must know our faith and we must have a living encounter with Jesus, the One who saves, redeems and heals. We must seek recourse to the Sacraments, especially Confession and the Eucharist.

We must read the works of the Founders of our country. We must go back to the original vision that God has for us as humans. We must go back to the original vision the Founders had for this country.

We must know who we are at the core of our being.

You know what's kind of funny about this is that when I saw the image pop up on my reader I actually thought "Wow. Good for them." In a weird, obtuse way, this is exactly what all women SHOULD be doing! They should be INFORMED about how awful ABC is for women (emotionally, physically and psychologically-- not to mention spiritually) and then they should "limit the reproductive choices" of "their men." Because women, especially secular feminists should stand up and say "I AM WORTH WAITING FOR." They should say that a woman's dignity is more important than being used for pleasure and discarded. Sounds to me that this stuff SHOULD be right up their alley.

But I'm just an ignorant, uninformed Catholic who wants to be barefoot and pregnant in the 12th century. What do I know?

Sister MJ,
This is so powerful, I had to pass this onto you in light of our little identity crisis we are having in the modern world...

"To a great extent the level of any civilization is the level of its womanhood. When a man loves a woman, he has to become worthy of her. The higher her virtue, the more noble her character, the more devoted she is to truth, justice, and goodness, the more a man has to aspire to be worthy of her. The history of civilization could actually be written in terms of the level of its women." Archbishop Fulton Sheen

Thanks for your work and the threads, The Oehlhof family
